This is more than a blog. It’s a collection of resources, tools, tips, thoughts, notes, jottings, videos, images and other useful stuff to help your business communicate better…

Here you’ll find anything that I think is engaging, a great example of communication or just downright useful. With an occasional smattering of complete nonsense just because it made me laugh and I hope will brighten your day too.

Random Thought: Default to ‘Yes’

I’ve been making a concerted effort to make ‘yes’ my default answer over the last few weeks, and it’s paying dividends.

If someone asks if I’d be interested in doing something, trying something, sharing something, looking at something or talking about something, I make every effort to say yes.

It seems to me that ‘yes’ is where the opportunities lie. It’s the opening to engagement, whereas if my default answer is ‘no’ then I’ve stopped any potential engagement dead before it’s even had a chance to thrive.

Obviously I’ve become quite sensitive to when people are taking the mickey – or just taking, as engagement has to be a two way process. But by giving a little of my time, my knowledge and my idea, I’ve had a slew of new opportunities – both business and social/personal – open up.

So, do you default to yes?
